JSON Formatter & Validator
Paste or open JSON to beautify it with your indentation, minify it, find errors by line and column, browse it as a tree, sort keys or convert it to XML or CSV. Big numbers keep every digit.
How to use it
- Paste JSON into the left editor, open a .json file, or click Sample.
- Click Beautify (or keep Auto update on) and choose 2, 3, 4 spaces or tabs; use Minify for one line.
- Use Validate to jump to the first error, Tree viewer to explore, or to XML / to CSV to convert, then Copy or Download.
Frequently asked questions
Why does my JSON fail validation?
The most common causes are a trailing comma, single quotes instead of double quotes, comments, or an unquoted key. The validator shows the exact line and column and puts the cursor there.
Will long numbers like IDs lose precision?
No. The formatter keeps every value exactly as written, so 64-bit and larger IDs, decimals and escapes are not rounded or changed.
Is it free, and is my data uploaded?
It's free with no sign-up, and it runs entirely in your browser — your input is never sent to our servers.
