Frequently asked questions

Are these UUIDs unique?

Version 4 UUIDs have 122 random bits from a cryptographically secure generator, so a collision is practically impossible.

What's the difference between a UUID and a GUID?

None in practice — GUID is Microsoft's name for the same 128-bit identifier format.

Is it free, and is my data uploaded?

It's free with no sign-up, and it runs entirely in your browser — your input is never sent to our servers.
